Broncos Defense Lives Up To The Hype In Week 1
3 years agoThe Denver Broncos defense looked like their strong suit in the 27-13 Week 1 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday. With the Monday night game pending, Denver's D finished tied for seventh among team defenses to open the season in standard-scoring defensive leagues, and it was without star pass-rusher Bradley Chubb in the lineup as well. They were unable to pick off any passes from quarterback Daniel Jones, but they did recover one of his fumbles and recorded two sacks -- both from former Super Bowl MVP Von Miller. The Denver defense should only get better once Chubb is 100 percent healthy and not limited, and it looks like Miller is already back to full health after missing all of 2020. Heading into Week 2 against the Jaguars and rookie QB Trevor Lawrence, the Broncos defense will have high-end weekly upside.
