BALLER MOVE: Target Around ~112 Overall
CURRENT ADP: ~125
ANALYSIS: The Bills didn't add a running back via the 2021 NFL Draft, but they did bring in Matt Breida via free agency. While he's not likely to take on a bulk of the work, he's certainly capable in pass protection and as a pass-catcher, which could eat into Devin Singletary's opportunities this season.
Singletary saw fewer carries and targets per game last season with Zack Moss in town than he did as the team's primary ball-carrier in 2019. Singletary averaged just 9.8 carries and 3.1 targets per game in 2020 compared to 12.6 carries and 3.4 targets per game in 2019. With the emergence of Moss as the early-down back, plus all the carries Josh Allen handles (6.4 per game) and now Breida in town, Singletary's opportunities could tick down even further.
But with all of that being said, Singletary was reportedly looking and feeling faster this preseason. Moss was forced to miss time during the preseason as well, and Singletary was getting the first crack at carries in preseason games including getting a good amount of work in key situations:
Singletary should find himself settling in the RB3 range. At his low draft day cost, he's someone worth snagging as bench depth in the late rounds during 12-team drafts. He should be viewed as a back-end RB3, but could carry more upside this season if things break right, or if Moss is forced to miss any time:
