Shi Smith To Be Out Two-To-Three Weeks
3 years agoCarolina Panthers rookie wide receiver Shi Smith (shoulder) is expected to miss two-to-three weeks, according to Panthers head coach Matt Rhule. Smith suffered a shoulder injury in the team's last preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday. The timing of the injury is certainly unfortunate as Smith will miss at least the team's first game of the year, potentially the team's second game as well. The 5'10" Smith was a sixth round pick out of South Carolina this year. He may struggle to work his way into the receiver rotation as a rookie with veterans Robby Anderson and DJ Moore as well as fellow rookie Terrace Marshall Jr. all decisively ahead of him on the depth chart.
