George Springer Could Return On Saturday
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer (knee) could make his return to the field in Saturday's game against the Detroit Tigers. Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo told the press that Springer looked good on Friday during his drills and he added that Saturday "would not be too early" for a potential activation. The 31-year-old Springer has been sidelined since August 14 due to a Grade 1 left knee sprain. He was in the midst of an 0-for-10 slump at the plate prior to the injury, but he's had a strong, albeit brief, season overall. Through 49 games this year, he's slashed .269/.362/.610 with 16 home runs, 35 RBI and 40 runs.
