Ryan Jeffers Suffers Heel Injury On Thursday
3 years agoMinnesota Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers (heel) suffered a heel injury during Thursday's game against the Boston Red Sox. According to Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com, Jeffers was unable to swing a bat or run after suffering the injury. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli spoke to the press after the game and didn't rule out a stint on the injured list for Jeffers. The Twins' starting catcher Mitch Garver (back) is currently dealing with back tightness. The team has been limiting Garver's playing time lately. Jeffers has started five of the last seven games while Garver has been limited. If Jeffers requires a trip to the injured list, the team may look to get Willians Astudillo back behind the plate or, alternatively, Ben Rortvedt could be recalled.
