Lourdes Gurriel Jr. Taking A Seat On Thursday
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against Carlos Rodon and the Chicago White Sox. Kevin Smith is getting the start in left field and batting eighth in the game. Gurriel has been swinging a hot bat in August. He has a .323/.364/.532 slash line to go along with three home runs and 12 RBI this month. The 27-year-old's numbers are down pretty much across the board from last year. His hard-hit rate is down from 49.8% last year to 37.4% this year, while his xBA is down from .280 last year to .246 this year. He should be rostered in most deep leagues and five-outfielder leagues, but in shallow leagues, he's more of a fringe player.
