Carlos Correa Not Expected Back In Houston
3 years agoHouston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa mentioned that this is his "last year with the Astros," but the writing was on the wall when the team offered him $120 million (and then $125 million), which was just over one-third of the $341 million that the New York Mets gave shortstop Francisco Lindor. On top of it, the 26-year-old was an All-Star for the second time this year and is hitting a cool .278/.371/.479 with an .850 OPS, 19 home runs, 68 RBI and 83 runs scored in 502 plate appearances over 116 games. There's a good chance that Correa will surpass his career-high 24 home runs set in 2017, his first All-Star season with Houston. Expect Correa's name to be added to an already stacked group of shortstops set to reach the open market this winter.
