Devin Funchess Lands On Injured Reserve
3 years agoThe Green Bay Packers placed wide receiver Devin Funchess (hamstring) on season-ending Injured Reserve on Wednesday. Funchess had a breakout with the Carolina Panthers with 840 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 2017, but the 27-year-old has played in just 15 games since then after not playing at all in 2020 due to COVID-19. The Packers have plenty of capable bodies at the receiver position, so Funchess probably wouldn't have seen much playing time, even if he had made the final roster out of training camp. With Funchess out of the picture this year, rookie Amari Rodgers could push veteran Randall Cobb for No. 4 targets behind Davante Adams, Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard.
