Tarik Skubal Strikes Out 10 On Wednesday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers starting pitcher Tarik Skubal had a strong outing against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday. He pitched five innings and allowed three hits, one walk and two earned runs while striking out 10, just one shy of his season-high. His only major blemishes were a pair of solo home runs by Paul Goldschmidt. After struggling to the tune of a 5.86 ERA in July, Skubal has been on fire in August. He has allowed just four earned runs over 22.2 innings, good for a 1.59 ERA. The 24-year-old Skubal has shown us a lot to be excited about this year. Even though he isn't typically pitching deep into games and he's subjected to the Tigers' six-man rotation, he is still worth roster consideration in many redraft leagues. He'll make his next start next Wednesday against the Oakland Athletics.
