Akil Baddoo Sitting Against Lefty On Wednesday
3 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Akil Baddoo is not in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against left-hander Jon Lester and the St. Louis Cardinals. Derek Hill is getting the start in center field and batting leadoff in the game. The left-handed Baddoo has hit significantly better against righties than lefties this year. He has a .279/.349/.528 slash line and 10 home runs over 229 at-bats against righties while he has a .211/.265/.250 slash line and one home run over 76 at-bats against lefties. Baddoo returned from a two-week stay on the injured list on Monday and went on to go 0-for-5 in his first game back on Tuesday. The Tigers are off on Thursday, then they face another lefty in Toronto Blue Jays starter Steven Matz on Friday. We might see Baddoo back in the lineup for that game if just to keep him active.
