K.J. Hamler Out With Illness Tuesday
3 years agoDenver Broncos wide receiver K.J. Hamler is dealing with a non-COVID-19-related illness and didn't take part in practice on Tuesday. We'd expect him to be back on the practice field soon. Although Hamler has just three catches on four targets in two preseason games, he's managed 107 yards and two touchdowns. The second-year wideout recorded only 30 catches (56 targets) for 381 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season with shoddy quarterback play, but injuries also limited him to 13 games. The 5-foot-9, 178-pound speedster is a dangerous deep threat, but durability issues are a concern. With Tim Patrick nursing injuries during camp, Hamler has a leg up on the No. 3 receiving job to open the regular season. However, it's hard to see Hamler getting enough volume on a weekly basis to become a reliable receiver in 12-team leagues.
