3 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Adbert Alzolay (hamstring) could be sent out for a rehab assignment at Triple-A Iowa some time this week, according to MLB.com's Jordan Bastian. However, the team is still in the midst of considering what the next move should be for the 26-year-old. Alzolay suffered a left hamstring strain and was placed on the 10-day injured list on August 14. He is eligible to return and it sounds like he's progressing okay as he threw a successful bullpen outing last Friday. However, the Cubs have nothing to play for right now and will likely be extra cautious with their young pitcher.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
