Carlos Santana Suffers Grade 1 Hip Flexor Strain
3 years agoKansas City Royals first baseman Carlos Santana (hip) was removed from Monday's game against the Houston Astros after suffering a Grade 1 hip flexor strain. The injury came in the ninth inning after he ran to first base to beat out a double play. He is being called day-to-day by the team and he is scheduled to be re-evaluated on Tuesday. Santana has struggled at the plate so far this month. He's slashing .198/.270/.247 with no home runs and just four RBI in August.
