Zach Wilson Learning From Rodgers In Joint Practices
3 years agoNew York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson idolized Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during his formative years. And now, he's earning the opportunity to practice right beside him. The Jets and Packers have been taking part in joint practices this week and Wilson has been soaking up as much as possible from the star Packers quarterback. Speaking of Rodgers, Wilson said, "He knows what's going on out there. It's cool to ask him about footwork, what's going on on the field, what he's seeing." He also added that the biggest thing he picked up was how calm and collected Rodgers was. Wilson, the second overall pick in this year's draft, has a tall task ahead of him as the Jets' starting quarterback. The team doesn't have a great set of weapons surrounding him yet, so there will likely be some big growing pains for him this year.
