3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers selected the contract of first baseman Renato Nunez on Wednesday. The move came after the team placed outfielders Akil Baddoo (concussion) and Derek Hill (ribs) on the injured list. Nunez played in seven games for the Tigers in April and he hit two home runs and two doubles while slashing .148/.207/.444. He hit 43 home runs over 203 games with the Baltimore Orioles from 2019 to 2020, so he has some clear power upside. He also slashed .291/.383/.585 with 20 home runs, 64 RBI and 60 runs at Triple-A this year. However, his playing time likely won't be sufficient enough to warrant fantasy appeal and his stay with the team could be brief.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
