Ross Stripling Lands On IL With Oblique Strain
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Ross Stripling (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Wednesday with a left oblique strain, according to Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun. In a corresponding move, the Blue Jays have recalled pitcher Trent Thornton from Triple-A and he will be active for Wednesday night's game. Stripling was forced to exit his start early on Tuesday after allowing one hit and one walk over two innings of work against the Angels. There's no word on how long he will be out, but given the fact it's an oblique injury it's entirely possible he might not pitch again during the regular season. Managers should stash him on the IL for now, but keep an eye out for updates on his timetable for a potential return.
