Ross Stripling Will Miss His Next Start
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Ross Stripling (oblique) was forced to leave his start against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday after suffering an oblique strain. He pitched just two innings in the start, allowing one hit, one walk and no runs without recording any strikeouts. After the game, Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo told the media, "I don't want to speculate … but he's not gonna make his next start that's for sure." A stint on the injured list might be likely for Stripling, but at the very least, he'll miss his next turn in the rotation. As a result, Steven Matz will remain in the rotation for now, making his next start on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners.
