Rhys Hoskins Placed On IL With Groin Strain
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (groin) was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left groin strain on Tuesday, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. The move was made retroactive to Aug. 7, which means he'll be eligible to come off the injured list next Tuesday. Hoskins has been out since Thursday, after slashing .244/.332/.509 with 24 homers, three steals, 68 RBI and 61 runs scored over 104 games so far this year. To replace him on the roster, the Phillies recalled outfielder Mickey Moniak from Triple-A. Brad Miller is starting at first base on Tuesday night, and he'll figure to get a bulk of playing time there while Hoskins is out.
