Clarke Schmidt Transferred To Double-A For Rehab Stint
3 years agoThe New York Yankees transferred pitcher Clarke Schmidt (elbow) from Low-A Tampa to Double-A Somerset on Thursday. Schmidt suffered an elbow strain back in February and has been working his way back ever since. In his only rehab start at Low-A, he pitched three innings and allowed one hit, two walks and one run while striking out four. He could make his way back to the big leagues later this month for his 2021 debut provided he doesn't suffer any setbacks. Schmidt struggled in his first, brief stint in the majors last year, making three appearances (one start) and allowing five earned runs over 6.1 innings.
