Mike Yastrzemski Trending Upward After Solid July
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski had his best month of the year so far in July. He slashed .237/.305/.505 with seven home runs, 16 RBI and 14 runs through the month. He's continued to hit for power in the early going of August as he doubled in his first game of the month and homered in his second game. Yastrzemski is only batting .227 on the year, down from .297 last year. His .212 xBA, which ranks in the bottom 7% of the league, isn't a promising sign to see. His underlying power metrics are also down this year, most notably with his xSLG down from .488 last year to .420 this year. He might be turning a corner as July was the first month this year in which he topped four home runs. However, it doesn't look like he'll be returning similar production to his 2020 self this year.
