Yu Darvish Fails To Record Quality Start In July
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Yu Darvish had a rough time on the mound in July. Over five starts, he posted a 7.36 ERA. He failed to post a quality start in any of his five outings and gave up a total of nine home runs over 25.2 innings. Darvish had been cruising all season before the calendar turned to July. His season-long numbers still look solid overall as he has a 3.48 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 29% strikeout rate over 21 starts. He has a 3.14 xERA that ranks in the 83rd percentile and he's done a good job of limiting walks with a 5.9% walk rate that ranks in the 84th percentile. Hopefully he'll be able to right the ship in his next trip to the mound on Saturday against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
