Chris Archer Goes Three-Plus Scoreless Innings In Rehab Start
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays right-hander Chris Archer (forearm) allowed just one hit while walking one and striking out four in 3 2/3 scoreless innings in his minor league rehab start for Triple-A Durham on Tuesday. This was Archer's fourth minor league rehab appearance, and he was able to throw 35 of his 59 pitches for strikes in the outing. The 32-year-old has been sidelined since early April with a forearm strain, but he's nearing a return. Archer had pitched in just two games (one start) for Tampa before his injury, allowing three earned runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and a walk in 4 1/3 frames. He's been in a steep decline since his last All-Star season in 2017 for the Rays, and fantasy managers in deep mixed leagues shouldn't be in a rush to pick him back up if he gets another shot in the rotation.
