Tyler Anderson Scratched; Trade On The Way?
3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Tyler Anderson has been scratched from his scheduled outing on Tuesday against the Milwaukee Brewers. It's possible that a trade is coming, potentially to the Philadelphia Phillies. The New York Mets, with all of their rotation injuries this year, are another team interested in the left-hander. Anderson has been decent in 2021 with the Pirates, going 5-8 with a 4.35 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 86/25 K/BB in 103 1/3 innings over 18 starts. He certainly won't put a contending team over the top, but the 31-year-old southpaw will be valuable depth for whoever acquires him. Anderson doesn't have a ton of fantasy upside with a career 20.8 percent strikeout rate, but he'll be a more attractive streamer on a winning team.
