Amari Cooper Targeting Mid-August Return
3 years agoDallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that he anticipates wide receiver Amari Cooper (ankle) and defensive lineman DeMarcus Lawrence (back) getting back to practice after the team plays the Arizona Cardinals in the preseason on Aug. 13. Jones expects both players to get a little game action before the regular season opener. The Cowboys placed both Cooper and Lawrence on the Physically Unable to Perform list to begin training camp. The 27-year-old pass-catcher is coming off ankle surgery in January and is suddenly becoming a bit more risky as a WR2. But with quarterback Dak Prescott returning in 2020, Cooper could also be a draft steal if his price drops any further.
