3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Nicky Lopez had a fantastic day at the plate in Saturday's 9-8 win over the Detroit Tigers. He went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs and an RBI. Lopez has had a fantastic month of July, slashing .339/.413/.429 with 10 RBI and nine runs. He has walked six times this month while striking out just eight times. There are some clear negatives to Lopez for fantasy purposes. He doesn't have a single home run over 88 games this year and he's also been regularly hitting out of the No. 9 spot on the Royals' lineup. If he were to move up in the lineup, he might be worth a look in deep leagues and AL-only leagues, but for now, he can remain on the waiver wire.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
