Manuel Margot Beginning Rehab Assignment Thursday
3 years agoTampa Bay Rays outfielder Manuel Margot (hamstring) will begin his minor league rehab assignment on Thursday with Triple-A Durham and play seven innings in right field. Margot went on the injured list on July 7 with a Grade 1 strain of his left hamstring and has been slow to recover. The 26-year-old had been useful in deep mixed leagues with nine home runs, nine stolen bases, 32 runs scored, 44 RBI and a .252/.297/.404 slash line in 270 at-bats before his leg injury. He should return to a pretty regular role in Tampa's outfield when he's done with his rehab assignment, which could push infield/outfield prospect Vidal Brujan back to the minor leagues. While Brujan has elite speed, he has just two hits in his first 26 big league at-bats and could use some more minor league seasoning.
