Panthers Defense On The Rise
3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers defense showed some improvement last year when they shut out the Detroit Lions and also held Green Bay Packers MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers to less than 200 yards. But they also were lacking experience, depth and a consistent pass rush. The team addressed those issues by signing Haason Reddick, Da'Quan Jones, Denzel Perryman and A.J. Bouye in free agency. They are all expected to play significant snaps in 2021. Carolina also drafted defensive back Jayce Horn as the first defensive player off the board in this year's draft. The Panthers ranked 18th in the NFL in both total defense and points allowed per game last year, and they should be better in 2021. They won't be drafted in most fantasy leagues to begin the year, but they could certainly be a unit to watch during the season.
