Josh Rojas Dislocates Finger In Wednesday’s Win
3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks infielder Josh Rojas (finger) dislocated the pinkie finger on his left hand in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Pirates. He dislocated his finger on a head-first slide towards second base. He went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk, and a run scored before exiting. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time, and Rojas is considered day-to-day. The 27-year-old is slashing .268/.356/.438 with 10 home runs, 28 RBI, 50 runs scored, and seven stolen bases across 93 games in 2021. Although Rojas has been solid this year, his underlying stats suggest his .343 BAIP and 114 WRC+ are unsustainable, and fantasy managers should expect regression. Josh VanMeter would see an uptick in playing time if Rojas is forced to miss any games. VanMeter can be left on the waiver wire after slashing an abysmal .200/.299/.360 across 144 plate appearances in 2021.
