Michael Fulmer Throws Another Bullpen
3 years agoDetroit Tigers right-hander Michael Fulmer (spine) threw a hard bullpen session on Tuesday. If he responds well, he could start a minor league rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo this weekend. Fulmer is making good progress from a cervical spine strain, and he's currently on track to return early next month, barring a setback. The 28-year-old right-hander seems to always be dealing with some sort of injury, which is why he's been moved to a relief role in 2021. Fulmer has been better in his 21 relief appearances for Detroit this year, posting a 3.62 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 35/6 K/BB in 27 1/3 innings. He even has six saves and could return to a high-leverage relief role when he returns from his latest injury.
