Eric Lauer Pushed Back Due To Fingernail Issue
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers left-hander Eric Lauer is dealing with a fingernail issue, which is why he has been moved to Wednesday against the Kansas City Royals. Left-hander Brett Anderson will get the starting nod against the Royals on Tuesday. It doesn't sound like a big concern for Lauer, but it's something to watch heading into his start on Wednesday. The 26-year-old southpaw is having a fine season for Milwaukee, recording a 3.83 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 54 strikeouts in 56 1/3 innings over 12 outings (nine starts). He's allowed just two earned runs while striking out seven and walking eight in 12 1/3 innings in his two starts in the month of July. The walks have been an issue, though, and his 4.84 FIP means he's been pretty fortunate up to this point. Lauer will still be an attractive daily streamer on Wednesday against the Royals, however.
