3 years agoFree-agent right-hander Anibal Sanchez is not planning to pitch this year after turning down MLB offers that he didn't view as commensurate with his value. Sanchez was originally looking for deals that were enhanced with incentives per start. The 37-year-old veteran hurler did not look good in 11 starts (53 innings) for the Washington Nationals in 2020, recording a 6.62 ERA, 1.66 WHIP, 43 strikeouts and 18 walks. The soft-tossing right-hander would have merely be an innings-eater if he landed in a major league rotation in the second half of the season, and he would have offered next to no fantasy upside as a deep-league streamer.
