Yordan Alvarez Hitless Over Last Five Games
3 years agoIt's been a rough month of July so far for Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez. He's currently in the midst of an 0-for-19 slump that's spanned the past five games. Over the month of July as a whole, he's slashing just .188/.257/.469. Alvarez's season-long numbers are solid, as he has a .283/.350/.509 slash line to go along with 16 home runs, 56 RBI and 53 runs over 78 games. He ranks in the 98th percentile in max exit velocity (116.4 mph) and in the 92nd percentile in hard-hit rate (51.2%). His HR/FB rate (21.6%) is a bit low considering his history and power acumen. He had a 32.9% HR/FB rate during his rookie 2019 campaign. He should provide ample power stats going forward, albeit with a little inconsistency.
