Bryce Harper To Rest In Game 2 Friday
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Bryce Harper is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the doubleheader against the Miami Marlins on Friday. Harper went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in the Game 1 win and is now hitting .283 on the season with a .900 OPS. His fantasy managers would probably like some more power (just 15 home runs this year), but he's also added 48 runs scored, 34 RBI and seven stolen bases. Matt Vierling will start in right field in Game 2 and will bat eighth against Marlins left-hander Ross Detwiler. Vierling has three singles in six plate appearances in his first taste of the big leagues, and he was hitting .288/.376/.500 with six home runs, 23 RBI and six steals in 41 games with Double-A Reading and Triple-A Lehigh Valley earlier this year. There's a modest power/speed profile here, but Vierling will still be a deep DFS sleeper in Game 2.
