Chi Chi Gonzalez Making Spot Start Against Dodgers
3 years agoColorado Rockies right-hander Chi Chi Gonzalez will make a spot start on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers to kick off the second half of the season. He is needed for the start after scheduled starter Antonio Senzatela and three other Rockies players were placed on the COVID-19 list on Friday. The soft-tossing Gonzalez is not recommended as a streamer in any formats at Coors Field against a stacked Dodgers lineup, especially with his 13.6 strikeout rate in 17 outings (13 starts) over 81 2/3 innings this year. The 29-year-old also has an unappealing 5.51 ERA and 1.40 WHIP. The Rockies might ask him to bite the bullet and give them innings this evening because of the COVID issues. It could get ugly.
