Braves Place Ian Anderson On Injured List
3 years agoThe Atlanta Braves placed starting pitcher Ian Anderson (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list on Friday with inflammation in his right shoulder and reinstated right-hander Touki Toussaint (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. Anderson lasted only 2 1/3 innings last Sunday against the Miami Marlins, allowing four runs on six hits while walking five, which were the most hits and walks combined that he's allowed in 2021. The 23-year-old's injury doesn't sound too serious, so hopefully he won't be gone for too long, as he's been useful across most formats with his 3.56 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 98 K's in 96 innings over 18 starts. Toussaint has been out since March 26, but it's possible he'll take Anderson's spot in the rotation. He was 2-1 with a 4.24 ERA in six starts on his rehab assignment, but opponents hit just .154 against him. Toussaint will be worth a look for those that need pitching help in deeper leagues.
