John Means Allows Two Runs In Latest Rehab Start
3 years agoBaltimore Orioles starting pitcher John Means (shoulder) went three-plus innings on Thursday in his rehab outing with Triple-A Norfolk and allowed a run on five hits while walking three and striking out four. Of his 74 pitches on the evening, he threw 46 for strikes. Means hasn't been sharp in his minor league rehab appearances, but the left-hander is expected to rejoin Baltimore's rotation for their series against the Tampa Bay Rays next week. The 28-year-old has basically been a must-start this year, going 4-2 with a 2.28 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 69 strikeouts in 71 innings over his 12 starts, but you may want to approach his first start back from the injured list with a bit more caution against a very good Rays team.
