Ryan Rolison Should Resume Throwing By End Of July
3 years agoColorado Rockies left-hander Ryan Rolison (finger), the team's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline, should be throwing again by the end of this month after suffering a fracture on the third knuckle of his pitching hand in mid-June when he was shagging balls in the outfield. Rolison was on the comeback trail at Triple-A Albuquerque after having his appendix removed when he fractured his finger. The 24-year-old southpaw has been pretty solid in the minors this year with a 3.67 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 35/5 K/BB in 27 innings over six starts with Albuquerque and Double-A Hartford. Rolison might not be an option to make his big league debut later this year due to the delay in his development, but he has a ceiling as a mid-rotation starter for Colorado as soon as next season.
