Carlos Carrasco To Begin Rehab Assignment Thursday
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco (hamstring) will begin his rehab assignment on Thursday by throwing one inning for High-A Brooklyn. The long-term plan is to have Carrasco make his Mets debut in early August, barring any further setbacks. The 34-year-old right-hander has yet to pitch in 2021 after suffering a torn hamstring. It makes him riskier when he does return in fantasy, but Carrasco will also be joining a first-place team after he posted a 2.91 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 82/27 K/BB in 68 innings (12 starts) in his final season with the Cleveland Indians in the shortened 2020 season. There's still upside here in the second half, which means fantasy managers should look to pick up and stash Carrasco if he's available on your league's waiver wire.
