3 years agoSan Diego Padres manager Jayce Tingler said that it's "unlikely" that starting pitcher Yu Darvish (back, hip) will pitch in the All-Star game next week after he dealt with more back and hip tightness in his disastrous outing against the Washington Nationals. Apparently Darvish has been dealing with these issues for the last several weeks, but it got worse on Thursday and he was pulled after three innings. The 34-year-old right-hander has allowed 10 earned runs and 14 hits (three home runs) in nine innings in his last two starts, but he still has a very nice 3.09 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 125 strikeouts in 105 innings over 18 starts in his first season with San Diego. However, his back and hip issues must be monitored closely as we approach the second half.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
