Adalberto Mondesi Taking Ground Balls
3 years agoKansas City Royals shortstop Adalberto Mondesi (oblique) is taking ground balls before the game on Wednesday. Mondesi is slowly working his way back into baseball activities after straining his left oblique on June 21. The speedy 25-year-old has already been on the injured list three separate times this year, so the Royals are understandably being extra cautious with their star player. Mondesi has just 36 at-bats on the season and was hitting a cool .361/.378/.833 with four home runs, six runs, nine RBI and a stolen base before his latest oblique injury. There remains no timetable for his return, so fantasy managers will need to remain patient and keep him stashed in all leagues. Nicky Lopez has been holding down the shortstop position in his absence in KC.
