Jacob deGrom Doesn't Expect To Pitch In All-Star Game
3 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom said that he doesn't expect to pitch in next week's All-Star game. Despite owning league-best marks across the board in ERA (0.95), ERA+ (401), FIP (0.99), WHIP (0.54), hits per nine innings (3.7), home runs per nine (0.4), BB/9 (1.2) and K/9 (14.4), deGrom has battled several nagging injuries throughout the year and wants to play it safe heading into the second half of the season for the first-place Mets. The right-hander is also lined up to pitch in the final game before the All-Star break. While it would have been cool to see deGrom start for the National League, it's probably for the best. His fantasy managers won't mind it at all.
