Anthony Firkser Figures To Be A Big Red-Zone Option
3 years agoTennessee Titans tight end Anthony Firkser will be the starter this year and figures to be factored heavily into the team's red-zone plans, according to head coach Mike Vrabel. Both Jonnu Smith and MyCole Pruitt are gone from last season, so there is opportunity for Firkser. He will be the primary pass-catching tight end, while Geoff Swaim is primarily a blocking tight end. Smith was targeted five times per game and had eight touchdowns on the team in 2020, second to only wide receiver A.J. Brown. Firkser isn't as exciting as an upside TE2 after the addition of All-Pro pass-catcher Julio Jones, but he will definitely see more volume and could be in play as a streaming tight end in the right matchups this year.
