Sandy Alcantara To Start On Saturday
3 years agoMiami Marlins manager Don Mattingly said that starting pitchers Sandy Alcantara and Zach Thompson will switch spots in the rotation this weekend. Alcantara will now go on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves, with Thompson lining up on Sunday. Alcantara has been useful in all fantasy formats this year with his 3.12 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 93/29 K/BB in a league-high 17 starts covering 106 2/3 innings pitched. The right-hander is coming off a rough outing his last time out, though, when he allowed four earned runs and two homers while walking three and striking out three in 5 1/3 innings against the Washington Nationals. The 25-year-old has already faced Atlanta twice in 2021, going 1-0 with a 3.65 ERA (five earned runs allowed on nine hits in 12 1/3 innings). Alcantara has earned must-start status, but he has two tough matchups in the Braves and the Los Angeles Dodgers on tap.
