Trea Turner Hits For The Cycle On His Birthday
3 years agoWashington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner gave himself a pretty nice birthday gift when he tripled in the sixth inning on Wednesday against the Tampa Bay Rays to complete the cycle. He became the fourth player in the modern era to hit for three career cycles. Turner went 4-for-4 in the ballgame with four runs scored and an RBI to raise his batting average to an impressive .318 and his OPS to .879. The 28-year-old has now homered four times in his last 11 games and has 14 on the season to go with 50 runs scored, 38 RBI and 16 stolen bases in 314 at-bats. His 16 stolen bases leads the National League. It's obvious that Turner needs to be in your lineups each and every day, especially while he's on his current hot streak.
