3 years agoDetroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said that starting pitcher Spencer Turnbull (forearm) has started throwing at the team's spring training complex and is expected to throw off a mound for the first time later this week. Turnbull had a very nice 2.88 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 44/12 K/BB in nine starts over 50 innings for Detroit this year before landing on the 10-day injured list with a forearm strain in early June. With better command of his pitches (career-low 2.2 BB/9), Turnbull has turned into a real fantasy asset in mixed leagues in 2021, and it looks like he'll be ready to return just after the All-Star break.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
