Kyle Freeland Suffering From A Cramp
3 years agoUpdating a previous report, Colorado Rockies manager Bud Black said that the initial read on left-hander Kyle Freeland's (leg) injury is that it's a cramp. Freeland was injured running the bases in the fifth inning on Monday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and was removed from the game, but the team is optimistic it won't turn out to be a serious injury. It's possible that the southpaw may not miss a start. Freeland still managed to get the win against Pittsburgh, tossing five shutout innings on three hits while striking out seven and walking one. Despite the great outing, he has a 6.54 ERA with 26 strikeouts and a 7.39 K/9 in 31 2/3 innings on the season. Freeland should see some positive regression because of a .361 opponent's BABIP, but fantasy managers shouldn't be rushing out to pick him up after this outing.
