Tyler Kroft Has A Shot At The Starting Gig
3 years agoNew York Jets tight end Tyler Kroft was one of the bigger surprises of the spring and saw a lot of time with the starting unit. Kroft could beat out Chris Herndon if Herndon doesn't break out of the funk he was in last year. With Mike LaFleur valuing tight ends heavily after coming from the San Francisco 49ers, the Jets tight end position could make some noise in 2021 as a safety valve for rookie quarterback Zach Wilson. Kroft played just 27 percent of the snaps last season for the Buffalo Bills due to injuries, and he finished with 12 catches for 119 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games (four starts). The last time he played a full season was in 2017 when he had 42 catches, 404 yards and seven touchdowns with the Cincinnati Bengals. Fantasy managers can ignore the Jets tight end position for now, but keep an eye on the developments in training camp.
