Willie Calhoun Placed On 10-Day Injured List
4 years agoThe Texas Rangers placed outfielder Willie Calhoun (forearm) on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a fracture of the ulna bone in his left forearm. Outfielder Jason Martin was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock in a corresponding move. Calhoun fractured his forearm after being hit by a pitch on Saturday and may not be back this season. The 26-year-old was having a disappointing season with a slash line of .254/.323/.385 with five home runs, 23 runs scored and 19 RBI in 226 plate appearances over 59 games for Texas. Jason Martin is 6-for-35 (.171) for the Rangers this year, but he was slashing .328/.421/.797 with eight homers and four doubles in 64 at-bats in the minors. He's in left field and batting ninth on Sunday against Kansas City Royals right-hander Brady Singer. Martin won't be a great DFS option and is only worth considering as outfield depth in AL-only leagues.
