3 years agoBoston Red Sox pitcher Chris Sale (elbow) will throw 20 pitches off the mound at Fenway Park on Saturday. It will be the first time Sale has faced any live hitting-pitching competition since Spring Training of 2020. According to manager Alex Cora, "Sale will have at least one more session against hitters before the team sends him off on a rehab assignment." The 32-year-old is trending in the right direction in his recovery from Tommy John surgery and could return to the rotation by mid-summer.
