Zach Ertz 2021 Outlook: Fly Away Eagle
4 years agoPhiladelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz appeared in just 11 games last season. It was the least productive season of his career with him catching 36 passes for 335 yards and one touchdown. An ankle injury caused him to miss a large portion of the season. There's a good chance gets traded to another team before the season starts. His fantasy outlook for the 2021 season is very situation-dependent. The Eagles appear to be moving on from Ertz. Dallas Goedert can be the team's TE1. The team also spent their first-round draft pick on DeVonta Smith, who is expected to be a key focus in the passing game. Fantasy gamers need Ertz to get traded to a team that is more than willing to utilize him in the passing game. If he can get traded to a team with a high-volume passing offense, then he could regain some of his fantasy prowess. On the flip side, we will be watching him fight for targets if he remains in Philadelphia as it appears the team is ready to make changes to the offense. I'm not interested in Ertz as an Eagle, but if he does find himself on another team, check back for an update on how to approach him in fantasy drafts.
